Gather around to watch Linda Coulter demonstrate her playful brushwork and she'll show you how easily you can create a beautiful painting. Bring samples of your home decor to class. Linda will teach you how to use the Coultermix™ Color System to match your new art work to your home decor.

Coulter's Weekend Art Getaways are the perfect place to meet creative people and make new friends who enjoy painting and touring as much as you do!
For several years, Linda taught an annual seminar at a plantation in Mississippi. One year after the seminar, the class went to Oak Alley plantation in Louisiana to tour and photograph, then on to the French Quarter for 2 fun-filled days where they toured, photographed, enjoyed the typical cuisine and jazz music of the French Quarter. Part of the group then went to Natchez, Mississippi, where they toured the plantation homes and gardens. See plantation getaway projects.
Here's how it works!
The teacher demonstrates each project, step by step, from start to finish so students can learn all the new techniques, concepts and skills involved in the featured art work.
Then students return to their seats to give it a try on their own canvas. The teacher circulates around the room, helping each individual student achieve success and take home a beautiful finished painting. Each time you attend a Coulter Weekend Art Getaway you'll build on the skills previously learned and continue to grow in your art expertise. Celebrate the joy of creativity!
The theme of this Art Getaway was floral painting, and students were encouraged to design their own custom hats for the next day's class. See more photographs. This grand prize winner lived nearby and quietly raided his wife's best floral arrangements to gather materials to fashion his hat, plus he made two leis to polish off "the look". Paint brushes are tucked in with the flowers and a banner that says, "Paint me!" Learn to photograph and paint!
Beginners are delighted to discover they can paint like a pro with Coulter Grisaille™ art style. Sometimes the class goes out on location to photograph an area, then returns to the classroom to learn how to paint what they photographed.
